*What is the idea behind Amico?

Amico was set up for people who have been in long term relationships that have broken down and who have been left to build up a new social group from scratch, or have newly moved to the area and have nobody to socialise with except work colleagues (and let's face it, when you spend 8-10 hours a day with them the last thing you want to do is go out with them at a weekend!). Amico brings new friends to you so you don't have to go looking and at the same time you can try out experience you have always wanted to try but never had the time (or energy!) to organise.

*What makes Amico different?

We offer two different types of memberships for you to choose from to suit your lifestyle (see 'How much does it cost?' below). We check every members I.D so that you know that other members are who they say they are, which speed dating and on-line dating clubs don't do.

*Membership Criteria

You have to be 25-55 to join Amico, have a desire to try new things, such as extreme sports ( white water rafting, rock climbing, abseiling), be lively, bubbly and not afraid to talk to new people.

*How much does it cost?

The Amico membership costs £15 each month and £25 to join (this includes your first monthly fee). The Pay As You Play (P.A.U.P) membership costs £5 in additional to any event cost ( eg. abseiling £50 + P.A.U.P £5 = £55) and there is a joining fee of £25, but this includes your first 3 P.A.U.P fees.

*I'm interested in joining,what do I do next?

You simply phone or e-mail giving us your name and contact details. We will arrange to meet you either at a venue of your choice or at one of our Social Nights at Caprice in Prestwick (see Events page for details). At this meeting we will need 2 passport photos of you, some form of photo I.D which shows your name and address ( passport or diving licence), your joing fee of £25 and a 50 word ad about yourself for your profile. Once your membership is completed, you can then Pay & Play!

*Can I join if i live outside Ayrshire?

Yes! Most of our extreme Sports and some of our Social Nights are in Glasgow or Perth so as long as you don't mind travelling you can sign up.

*Do you do group discounts?

If a group of 4 friends join at the same time, then your Amico Membership is £12 a month. There is no discount for the Pay As You Play membership.

*What type of events do you run?

We organise extreme sports events such as canoeing, river bugs, white water rafting, 4x4 off road driving, sphere-ing, paint ball and many more.

We also have various social nights including cocktail parties, black tie ball, spring/summer/christmas ball, boozy treasure hunts.

Amico also provides introductions to educational classes such as cookery, drum/guitar lessons, life coaching and colour stylist workshops.

*How often do events run?

We have events on at least once a week. Please see our Events page for details.

*I have a suggestion for an event.

Great! We are always looking for ideas. This club is all about what you want to do, so if there is something that we can organise for you individually or as a group then let us know.

*What is the on-line members page?

This is where your personal profile is put for other members to view. If you like the sound of someone and want to contact them, then we will act as a messaging service for you so that your personal e-mail address is not disclosed until you are ready to tell that person. This service is included in your joining fee and you can contact as many people as you want.

*What happens if I want to cancel my membership?

You simply give us 28 days written confirmation either by letter or e-mail. If you want to come back to us within a year of initially joining then you won't have to pay another joining fee.
